Type I Compounds

In this chapter we learned about naming compounds and their characteristics. For example, a type 1 binary compound contains a metal (with a permanent charge) and a nonmetal while a type 3 binary compound consists of two nonmetals. There are a few irregular elements and some exceptions, but overall this is an easy concept that we will need to know for future units and exams.

Frontier Chemistry

Although this project was interesting and informative, I found it extremely difficult and complex. Without having any information to back it up, I struggled to determine the chemicals and medicinal purpose of many plants. The most difficult part was determining the plant in my pictures and having enough images of accurate species. Also, I had an extremely hard time understanding Blogger and correctly linking my websites. Although I had difficulties, it was an interesting project that helped me figure out Blogger and its quirks.
